At 16:16 on February 15th, National City responded to a reported structure fire at 441 Orrell Dr. Engine 34 reported smoke showing from a distance. Upon arrival, E-34 passed command and was assigned by B57 to attack the fire and made interior division. E31 layed a supply line and was made RIC. T34 was assigned to ventilation.
A short time into the fire, interior division reported they had located a fire victim who was 1144. Chula Vista E51 performed a secondary search. The fire was knocked down at 16:35. Bonita Engine 38 was assigned to back up the interior crew. The living room and a portion of the kitchen sustained the majority of the fire damage.
One dog was saved while two other perished in the fire. SDG+E was called to secure the gas line to the house as it was broken. Fire investigator and medical examiner were requested. Cause of the fire is under investigation.
